In 1998, after a decade of playing in rock, punk and rap bands, Drew Kennedy adapted the name Dex Dubious, with the band the DBC, and forged ahead as a producer/remixer. As a burgeoning remixer, Dex has worked on tracks by Sinead O'Connor, Richard Morel, and Clare Quilty. Dex's first vinyl release (limited edition) featured a pumped up, house version of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish", and a house remake of Deep Purple's "Hush" with vocals by Aimee Real. Utilizing his ability to play guitar, bass, sitar, keys and drums, combined with his quest for the ultimate cool old sample, Dex's remixes and originals stand out within the dance genre.
